Quick answer
For traders prioritising the absolute tightest all-in cost, Vantage’s Raw account at 0.0 pips raw EUR/USD plus $6 round-turn commission is approximately 0.2 to 0.3 pips cheaper than PU Prime’s Prime account on EUR/USD. The trade-off is the higher minimum deposit on Vantage Raw ($500 vs PU Prime Prime’s $1,000 is actually lower), and the absence of a Cent account on Vantage. For high-frequency scalpers running tight cost discipline, Vantage Raw is the institutional-grade pick.
The trader’s actual P&L equals raw market direction minus the cost stack. The cost stack on a CFD broker has five components: spread, commission, swap, inactivity fee, and deposit/withdrawal fee. The trader who knows the actual stack can size and frequency-tune position deployment to maximise net P&L. This guide covers the full PU Prime cost stack across all four account types.

Spreads widen during high-volatility windows similar to most retail brokers. NFP and FOMC release windows can see EUR/USD widen to 4 to 6 pips on Standard and 1.5 to 2 pips on raw accounts. The CME open and close on US session windows can see brief widening to 2x the typical figure. EIA Wednesday inventory release widens crude spreads to 2 to 4x the typical level for 30 to 60 minutes. The widening pattern is normal across the industry.
Commission structure
PU Prime charges $3.5 per lot per side ($7 round-turn) on the Prime and ECN raw-spread accounts. The Standard and Cent accounts have no commission. The commission is competitive with the major retail broker tier; IC Markets and Pepperstone charge similar $7 round-turn, while Vantage charges $6 round-turn.
The break-even point between Standard and Prime/ECN is approximately 7 to 10 round-turns per day on EUR/USD, calculated as follows. Standard EUR/USD costs approximately 1.0 pip per round-turn (entry plus exit spread). Prime EUR/USD costs approximately 0.9 pips equivalent (0.2 pips raw spread plus $7 commission, divided by the trade size in pips). The marginal saving per round-turn on Prime is approximately 0.1 pips. The trader needs the marginal saving to offset the commission overhead, which equates to approximately 7 to 10 round-turns per day.
Swap rates
PU Prime applies overnight swap rates on positions held past the 22:00 GMT (17:00 ET) rollover. Swap reflects the interest rate differential between the two currencies in the pair, plus the broker’s mark-up.
| Instrument | Long swap (per lot, per night) | Short swap (per lot, per night) | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | -$4 to -$7 | +$1 to +$3 | Long pays the EUR-USD differential |
| GBP/USD | -$3 to -$5 | $0 to +$2 | BoE-Fed differential |
| USD/JPY | +$5 to +$10 | -$8 to -$12 | Long earns Fed-BoJ differential |
| AUD/USD | -$3 to -$5 | $0 to +$2 | RBA-Fed differential |
| XAU/USD | -$3 to -$7 | -$3 to -$7 | Both sides typically negative (storage/financing) |
| XAG/USD | -$1 to -$2 | -$1 to -$2 | Similar gold structure |
| BTC/USD | -$15 to -$30 | -$15 to -$30 | Both sides typically negative |
| WTI | -$0.50 to -$1.50 | -$0.50 to -$1.50 | Reflects futures roll |
Triple swap is applied on Wednesday rollovers to cover the weekend’s three days of accrued swap. Traders running carry strategies (long USD/JPY for the differential) need to factor the triple-swap Wednesday rate into the multi-day P&L; traders running negative-swap positions need to manage the triple-swap drag.

Inactivity fee
PU Prime charges an inactivity fee of $10 per month on accounts with no trading activity for 90 consecutive days. The fee deducts from the account balance until the balance reaches zero, at which point further deductions stop. The fee is the standard for the major retail broker tier.
The fee structure is essentially a dormant-account housekeeping mechanism rather than a revenue source. Traders who plan to leave funds in the account for extended periods without trading should withdraw the funds rather than leaving them subject to the charge. A single trade of any size every 90 days resets the inactivity counter.
Deposit and withdrawal costs
PU Prime does not charge deposit or withdrawal fees from the broker side. Bank wires, cards, e-wallets, and local transfers all process without broker fees. Note that third-party fees from your bank, card issuer, or e-wallet provider may still apply, particularly on international wires.
The fee-free deposit and withdrawal structure is one of the broker’s marginal advantages over comparable brokers. Some major retail brokers charge $20 to $40 on bank wire withdrawals, particularly on amounts under $1,000.
Cost comparison vs Vantage and IC Markets
The institutional-tier comparison on EUR/USD round-turn cost.
| Broker | Account | Min deposit | EUR/USD raw spread | Commission | All-in cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PU Prime | Prime | $1,000 | 0.2 pips | $7 round-turn | ~0.9 pips equivalent |
| Vantage | Raw | $500 | 0.0 pips | $6 round-turn | ~0.6 to 0.7 pips equivalent |
| IC Markets | Raw Spread | $200 | 0.0 to 0.1 pips | $7 round-turn | ~0.7 to 0.8 pips equivalent |
| Pepperstone | Razor | $200 | 0.0 to 0.1 pips | $7 round-turn | ~0.7 to 0.8 pips equivalent |
The honest read. PU Prime’s raw-account all-in cost is approximately 0.1 to 0.3 pips wider than the institutional-grade benchmark (Vantage), and 0.1 to 0.2 pips wider than IC Markets and Pepperstone. For high-frequency scalpers (50 plus round-turns per day), the difference works out to $2 to $7 per day in extra cost on a 1.0 lot size. For swing traders (1 to 5 trades per day), the difference is $0.10 to $1 per day; negligible.

The break-even framework for PU Prime account selection
The cost-optimal account on PU Prime depends on trade frequency.
- Below 5 round-turns per day on EUR/USD: Standard account is cheapest. The 1.0 pip Standard spread is paid twice per round-turn but no commission applies.
- 5 to 10 round-turns per day: Either Standard or Prime is competitive. The break-even point sits in this range depending on session-to-session spread variation.
- 10 to 30 round-turns per day: Prime account is meaningfully cheaper. The 0.2 pip raw spread plus $7 commission works out to 0.9 pips equivalent vs Standard’s 1.0 pip, saving approximately $1 per round-turn on a 1.0 lot.
- 30 plus round-turns per day: ECN account provides additional liquidity depth at high-vol windows. Same spread and commission as Prime, but better fill quality during NFP, FOMC, and EIA Wednesday windows.
The Tier-1 alternative if cost is the priority
The MACRO MASTERY angle
The cost stack is one variable. The macro-intelligence layer compounds across cycles regardless of broker choice. The MACRO MASTERY desk runs daily macro pulses and live event coverage that delivers directional edge worth materially more than the per-trade cost difference between any two tier-equivalent brokers.
Final framework
PU Prime’s cost stack is competitive with the major retail broker tier but not the absolute tightest. The Standard account is cost-optimal below approximately 5 to 10 round-turns per day. The Prime account is cost-optimal above 10 round-turns per day. Swap rates apply per the standard rate-differential framework with triple-swap on Wednesday. Inactivity fee of $10 per month after 90 days of no trading. No deposit or withdrawal fees. Vantage’s Raw account is approximately 0.2 to 0.3 pips cheaper all-in on EUR/USD for traders prioritising absolute cost.
