Macro Trading Mentorship Cost: Honest 2026 Pricing

By Ken Chigbo, Founder, KenMacro. UK macro desk, 18 years institutional FX. First-party post, full disclosure.

The short answer

Genuine macro trading mentorship sits in three price bands. Low band, GBP 1,500 to 2,500, usually small-group cohort with weekly calls and a private channel. Mid band, GBP 2,500 to 5,000, typically 1-on-1 with the mentor for three to six weeks, application-gated, plus the framework course bundled. High band, GBP 5,000 to 15,000, larger 1-on-1 programmes (three to twelve months) with audited prop background and verifiable track record, usually for serious capital. Below GBP 1,500 is usually a Discord-tier subscription rebranded as mentorship. The KenMacro 1-on-1 mentorship sits in the mid band (GBP 2,500-5,000 depending on cohort), three weeks with Ken, small cohort, application-gated. The Macro Trading Blueprint course (GBP 499 one-time, lifetime) is the framework prerequisite that most mentees come through first.

Why mentorship costs what it costs

Macro trading mentorship is priced for two things: the mentor’s opportunity cost (every mentee hour is an hour not on the book) and the limit on cohort size (1-on-1 is genuinely 1-on-1, not 1-to-50 dressed up). A genuine institutional-background mentor running a serious book can charge GBP 200 to 400 per hour for advisory work; a three-week mentorship with weekly 1-on-1 calls and async support comes out at GBP 2,500 to 5,000 in the genuine range. Lower than that usually means the mentor is not at the cited level, or the cohort is much bigger than 1-on-1, or it is a Discord rebrand. Higher than that usually means a multi-month programme with audited prop track record for institutional capital.

The three price bands explained

Low band: GBP 1,500 to 2,500. Usually small-group cohort with weekly calls, a private channel, and shared learning. Good entry point if you want structure without 1-on-1. Wrong if you want a mentor who knows your trading specifically. Mid band: GBP 2,500 to 5,000. Genuine 1-on-1 mentorship for three to six weeks, application-gated, framework course usually bundled, customised to the trader’s specific gaps. The sweet spot for serious retail traders who want focused personalised work. KenMacro’s mentorship sits here. High band: GBP 5,000 to 15,000. Multi-month programmes, larger 1-on-1 scope, often with audited prop track record requirement, usually for traders with five-figure-plus accounts. Worth it only if the mentor’s verifiable track record justifies the price.

What to verify before paying any price band

Five checks. First, public archive of the mentor applying their framework. If they cannot show daily output, the framework is unverifiable. Second, real bio with verifiable background. Floor years, prop seats, hedge fund seats, named employers. Third, exact cohort size. 1-on-1 means 1-on-1, not 1-to-30 with a private channel. Fourth, framework prerequisite path. Most genuine mentors require you to know the framework before starting (course or self-study), because mentorship is not where the framework is taught, it is where it is applied to your specific trades. Fifth, refund or partial-refund policy if the first call shows a fit-fail. Genuine mentors want fit-right mentees and will refund if the fit is wrong.

KenMacro’s mentorship price and what it covers

GBP 2,500 to 5,000 depending on the cohort, three weeks 1-on-1 with Ken Chigbo, small cohort, application-gated. What it covers: a kickoff call to audit the trader’s current setup and identify the specific gaps, weekly 1-on-1 calls to work on live trades, async support via private channel between calls, customised reading and framework deepening based on the trader’s gaps, and a closing call to lock in the rule set going forward. What it does not cover: the framework itself (the Macro Trading Blueprint course at GBP 499 is the prerequisite path; you can self-study from the free framework PDF if you prefer). Application via kenmacro.com/mentorship; the desk reviews the application and turns away wrong-fit applicants explicitly, which is the protective layer for both sides. Cohort pricing typically sits closer to GBP 2,500 for the standard three-week intensive and rises toward GBP 5,000 when the trader’s case requires deeper async support, additional calls, or a longer engagement window. The desk states the cohort price at the application stage so there are no surprises after the form is in.

Verifying mentorship price-to-value fit

  1. Public framework archive. Mentor publishes daily output applying their framework. If they cannot show daily work, the framework is unverifiable.
  2. Verifiable background. Real bio: floor years, prop seats, hedge fund seats, named employers. Be wary of unnamed-employer ‘institutional’ claims.
  3. Real cohort size. 1-on-1 means 1-on-1. If a ‘mentorship’ has 30 people in the Discord, it is a group programme rebranded.
  4. Framework-first path. Genuine mentors require you to know the framework before starting. Mentorship applies the framework, it does not teach it.
  5. Application-gated. Wrong-fit applicants get turned away. If anyone with a card can buy in, it is a content product not mentorship.
  6. Refund or partial-refund clause. Genuine mentors want fit-right mentees. A refund clause if the kickoff shows a fit-fail is a green flag.

Frequently asked questions

How much does macro trading mentorship cost in 2026?

Genuine ranges: low band £1,500-2,500 (small-group cohort), mid band £2,500-5,000 (genuine 1-on-1, three to six weeks, application-gated), high band £5,000-15,000 (multi-month with audited prop background). Below £1,500 is usually a Discord-tier subscription rebranded.

How much is Ken Chigbo’s mentorship?

£2,500 to £5,000 depending on the cohort. Three weeks 1-on-1 with Ken, small cohort, application-gated. The Macro Trading Blueprint course (£499) is the framework prerequisite; most mentees come through the Blueprint first.

Is mentorship worth the cost vs. a self-paced course?

Depends on the gap. If the gap is the framework itself, the course (£499) fixes it cheaper. If the gap is applying the framework to YOUR specific trades, mentorship is the right shape because that is what 1-on-1 work does. Most genuine paths run course first, then mentorship if 1-on-1 still helps.

What’s the cheapest legitimate macro trading mentorship?

Small-group cohort programmes at £1,500-2,500 are the cheapest legitimate band. Below that, you are buying a content subscription rebranded as mentorship, which is fine if you want a content subscription but is not 1-on-1 work.

How do I apply for KenMacro mentorship?

Visit kenmacro.com/mentorship and submit the application form. The desk reviews each application and responds within 48 hours. Wrong-fit applicants are turned away explicitly so the cohort stays small and the work stays focused.
