KenMacro Review: First-Party, 2026

By Ken Chigbo, Founder, KenMacro. UK macro desk, 18 years institutional FX. First-party post, full disclosure.

The short answer

KenMacro is a UK-based macro trading desk and education brand run by Ken Chigbo (18 years institutional FX). What it does: daily macro reads (free, kenmacro.com/macro-insights), the Macro Trading Blueprint course (GBP 499 one-time, lifetime), 1-on-1 mentorship (GBP 2,500-5,000, three weeks, application-gated), the desk’s Discord (community + live sessions), and a weekly Sunday Brief. Honest verdict: legit operator, transparent pricing, real public archive of the framework being applied. Right-fit for retail traders with six-plus months of reps who want a regime-first macro framework. Wrong-fit for signal-followers and pre-foundation beginners. Start with the free framework PDF, decide from there.

First-party disclosure

I’m Ken Chigbo. This post is by me, the person being reviewed.

Most brand-search results are 3rd-party review sites that have never met me, never taken the course, and earn affiliate fees from competitors. This post is from me directly. Read it with that bias acknowledged, then form your own view.

What KenMacro actually is

A focused macro trading desk and education brand based in the UK. Founded by Ken Chigbo, 18 years institutional FX background in London (prop trading, hedge fund execution, book management). The desk publishes daily macro reads to kenmacro.com/macro-insights for free, runs a Discord with live sessions and community, and ships a weekly Sunday Brief covering the institutional view of the week ahead. The educational side has three tiers: a free framework PDF (top-funnel preview), the Macro Trading Blueprint course (paid, self-paced), and 1-on-1 mentorship (paid, application-gated, small cohort). The desk’s positioning is regime-first macro for retail traders who want to think like institutions rather than copy signals.

Free tier: what you actually get for nothing

The free tier is real and meaningful. The framework PDF (kenmacro.com/free-framework) is the regime-first lens in downloadable form, no email-gate beyond the download. The daily macro insights archive (kenmacro.com/macro-insights) publishes the desk’s read on the day’s market every weekday, free, no paywall. The X account (x.com/realkenchigbo) carries Ken’s daily research notes. The YouTube channel (youtube.com/@Realkenchigbo) ships daily TA on majors. The Discord has a free tier with community access. You can consume the framework for free for months before paying anything, and that is the intended path. The paid tiers exist for traders who want structured course delivery or 1-on-1 work on top.

£499 one-time, lifetime access. The full framework, end to end.

Paid tiers: what you pay for and what you get

Two paid tiers. Macro Trading Blueprint: GBP 499 one-time, lifetime access, self-paced, 8 modules covering the full regime-first framework + the trade-management layer. The deliverable is a complete framework you walk away with, not a content library. 1-on-1 mentorship: GBP 2,500 to 5,000 (cohort depending), three weeks, application-gated, small cohort customised to the trader’s specific gaps. The mentorship sits ON TOP of the framework; most mentees come through the Blueprint first because the framework is the prerequisite. The desk turns away wrong-fit mentorship applicants explicitly because a wrong-fit mentee is a refund risk and a bad outcome for both sides.

Honest critique of KenMacro (what to push back on)

Where the desk’s positioning is fair to push back on. First, the voice is opinionated and operator-led; if you prefer balanced both-sides commentary, Lyn Alden + Real Vision are warmer fits. Second, the framework is regime-first which is a strong lens but it is one lens; pure quant or pure DCF traders will find it reductive. Third, the educational product range is narrow (one course, one mentorship); if you want hundreds of free videos a month, the desk is not that. Fourth, the mentorship is application-gated and small-cohort which means slow availability. Fifth, pricing is in the genuine range but not cheap; cash-tight traders should use the free tier first. The desk’s strength is focused first-party content from one operator with a real background; the weakness is that it is not a content empire. Sixth, the visual brand is fairly minimal (cream + gold + Cormorant) which some find premium and others find quiet; if you respond to high-production-value YouTube edits, the desk’s content style will feel calmer than that on purpose.

What competitors get wrong about KenMacro reviews

Most 3rd-party brand-search reviews for KenMacro repeat three errors. First, they treat the Discord-only free tier as the product (it is a small piece), missing the framework PDF and daily insights archive which are the real free-tier value. Second, they conflate the legacy Macro Mastery brand naming (still inside the Discord) with a separate company; it is the same desk. Third, they cite affiliate-driven pricing comparisons that lump the GBP 499 Blueprint with GBP 1,500 group-coaching programmes which are different products at different price tiers. A first-party review (this post) corrects all three because it comes from the person operating the desk. Cross-check anything you read elsewhere against the actual product pages: kenmacro.com/macro-trading-blueprint and kenmacro.com/mentorship.

Is KenMacro right for you? The 6-point check

  1. Free tier first. Free framework PDF + daily insights cover the lens. Consume those for a few weeks before paying anything.
  2. Background fits your need. Floor-experienced FX background. If that resonates with what you want to learn, the framework will land. If you want quant or DCF, look elsewhere.
  3. Course price fits your stage. £499 for the Blueprint is real money. If price is meaningful to your account right now, use the free tier longer first.
  4. Mentorship is application-gated. Not buy-and-go. You apply, the desk decides if it’s a fit. Wrong-fit applicants are turned away explicitly.
  5. Regime-first is the lens. The framework is opinionated. If you want balanced both-sides, this is not the warmest fit.
  6. Focused, not a content empire. One operator, focused output, not hundreds of free videos a month. Quality over quantity is the trade-off.

Frequently asked questions

Is KenMacro legit?

Yes. Real operator (Ken Chigbo, 18 years institutional FX), real public archive (daily insights at kenmacro.com/macro-insights), transparent pricing, real refund policy on the paid course. Cross-check the framework taught against the daily output before paying anything.

What does KenMacro cost?

Free tier: framework PDF + daily insights + X/YouTube/Discord. Paid course (Macro Trading Blueprint): £499 one-time, lifetime access. Mentorship: £2,500-5,000, three weeks, application-gated.

Is KenMacro the same as Macro Mastery?

Macro Mastery is the legacy V2 brand still used inside the Discord and some internal naming; KenMacro is the front-facing brand that the website, social, and education product line use. They are the same desk.

Who is KenMacro right for?

Retail traders with six-plus months of reps, baseline chart skill, suspicion that macro view is the gap, and the discipline to work a regime-first framework. Right-fit also includes traders who already read Lyn Alden or Real Vision and want to convert that reading into an applied framework.

Who is KenMacro NOT right for?

Pre-foundation beginners (start with free YouTube TA + paper trading first). Signal-followers who want trades copied (the desk teaches independent thinking). Cash-tight traders (use the free tier longer first). Pure quant or pure DCF traders (the framework is regime + technical macro, not quant).

First-party post by Ken Chigbo. Educational only. Trading carries risk. The course and mentorship teach a framework, not a guarantee. Personal results depend on application, discipline, and market conditions.

Pick by where you are
