Mentorship application

How your application is handled

Last updated 25 July 2026

This covers the one to one mentorship application specifically. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version. We collect what Ken needs to prepare for your call, nothing more. We do not ask for your income, your address or your date of birth. Applying does not sign you up to marketing. We keep your application for up to 24 months, then strip everything that identifies you from it. You can ask us to delete it sooner by replying to your confirmation email.

Who is responsible

KenMacro, operated by Ken Chigbo, is the data controller for this application. For anything on this page, contact kenchigbotrading@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

What Why Required
Your name So we know who we are speaking to Yes
Your email To send your confirmation, your reference and your call details Yes
Where you are in your trading, what you trade, hours a week, main blocker, goal So Ken can prepare properly and so we can tell whether one to one work is the right thing for you Yes
Your written answers The two longer answers are what Ken actually reads before the call Yes
Investment readiness To avoid putting anyone on a sales call who has told us the timing is wrong Yes
WhatsApp or Telegram number A short message before the call, if you want that No, optional
Marketing consent Only if you tick the box No, optional and unticked by default

What we deliberately do not collect

  • Your income. An earlier version of this form asked for it. It was removed because the readiness question already tells us what we need, and income is sensitive information we have no good reason to hold.
  • Your home address, date of birth, or any identity document.
  • Any payment details. Nothing is charged to apply, and no card is taken on this form.
  • Your IP address, in any form, on your application record. To stop the form being flooded we hold a salted one way hash of it, which changes daily and cannot be turned back into an address, and that hash lives only in a counter that expires after one hour. It is never written to the application itself, so nothing derived from your IP address survives on a record we keep for two years.

How your application is routed

To be straightforward about it, part of this decision is automatic.

Outcome What triggers it What happens
You can book straight away Your readiness, your available time and the depth of your answers are all consistent A booking calendar is shown immediately
Ken reviews it himself Something needs human judgement, for example under three hours a week, a very early stage starting point, short answers, or a previous application No automatic decision. Ken reads it and replies, usually within two working days
Not the right time You told us the investment is not possible at the moment No booking calendar. We point you at free and lower cost material instead

No outcome is a judgement about you, and no outcome is final. Every application is stored and can be looked at by a person. If you think the routing got it wrong, reply to your confirmation email and say so, and Ken will look at it himself.

Our lawful basis

Purpose Basis
Reading your application, replying to it, preparing for and holding your call Legitimate interests. You asked us to consider you, and we cannot do that without reading what you sent
Sending your confirmation email and your booking details Legitimate interests. This is transactional. It is the reply to something you submitted, not marketing
Sending you general educational emails and desk updates Consent. Only if you ticked the optional box, and you can withdraw it at any time
Preventing the form being flooded or abused Legitimate interests. The hashed request data described above

Applying is not subscribing. If you do not tick the optional marketing box, you will receive your application confirmation and nothing else. If you have unsubscribed from KenMacro emails in the past, applying will not put you back on the list. That was a deliberate decision when this form was built.

Who else sees it

Who What they get Why
Ken, and anyone he authorises to help with the desk The full application To assess it and prepare for your call
Our website host The application record, stored on the site It is where the record lives
Our email provider Your name and email To deliver your confirmation, and your marketing emails if you consented
Calendly Your name, email and application reference, only if you book To schedule the call
Our internal alerting A summary of your application So a new application is not missed

We do not sell your information, we do not share it with brokers or advertisers, and we do not use your application to target advertising.

How long we keep it

Record Kept for
Your application, if you do not go ahead Up to 24 months. A scheduled job then removes your name, email, phone number and every written answer. What is left is the outcome and the dates, with nothing that identifies you
Your application, if you become a mentorship client Kept for the duration of the work and then per our client records, because it is part of your development history
Anti-abuse hashes One hour, and never on your application record
Marketing subscription, if you consented Until you unsubscribe

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. The fastest route is replying to your confirmation email, because it carries your reference. Otherwise email kenchigbotrading@gmail.com with the name and email address you applied with.

We will respond within one month. There is no charge. If you are unhappy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Answers saved in your browser

As you fill the form in, your answers are held in your own browser so you do not lose them if the page reloads. By default this lasts only for that browser session and is cleared when you close the tab. You can choose to keep them on your device to finish later, and there is a button on the review screen to clear them again. Either way, everything is cleared once your application is submitted. None of it is sent anywhere until you press Submit my application.

Where we recorded that you came from

When you first arrive on the site your browser stores a small note of where you came from, for example a search engine, a link in an email, or one of our own pages. It is kept in your browser and sent with your application so we can tell which of our work actually reaches people. It holds a source name, the page you landed on and a date. It does not hold your name, your email or anything you typed, and we do not use it for advertising.

If you abandon the form part way through, we record the question number you stopped at as an anonymous count. It is not linked to you, and nothing you typed is sent.

Changes

If this changes in a way that affects applications already submitted, we will tell the people affected rather than quietly updating the page.
