Macro Trading Blueprint Review: Honest Verdict from a Trader (2026)
By Ken Chigbo, Founder, KenMacro. UK macro desk, 18 years institutional FX. Educational, not financial advice.
The short answer
Honest review (from the desk that built it, so apply the appropriate disclaimer). The Macro Trading Blueprint is a self-paced regime-first macro trading course covering the four pillars: regime identification, real-yields mechanics, dollar dynamics, gold and oil channels, plus the trade-management layer. GBP 499 one-time, lifetime access. Built by Ken Chigbo (18 years institutional FX, London floor background). Right for: retail traders with some chart competence who want a complete framework without months of self-assembly. Wrong for: pure beginners who have not opened a brokerage account, signal-followers, and people who expect a course to make them money rather than teach them to make their own. Alternatives if it is not the fit: Real Vision subscription for unstructured depth, FRED self-study for free, the desk’s mentorship for 1-on-1 work after the framework is in.

Where the Blueprint fits
If you have no framework yet, the Blueprint is where it gets built.
MTB is the foundation course. Once you have the framework and a few hundred reps behind you, the mentorship layer fits on top. If you want the full free preview first, the framework PDF is in the related links at the foot of this page.
What the Macro Trading Blueprint actually covers
Four pillars, end to end. Regime identification module: the four-regime model (growth, fear, inflation, liquidity), how to identify which regime you are in from cross-asset signals, what each regime rewards. Real-yields module: TIPS yield mechanics, how real yields price gold, the dollar, and risk simultaneously; the inverse relationship and when it breaks. Dollar framework module: DXY composition, the dollar’s dual role as safe-haven and inflation absorber, when each role dominates and why. Oil and gold module: supply-demand mechanics, OPEC dynamics, geopolitical-premium channel, real-yields overlay, central-bank buying as a structural floor under gold. Plus the trade-management layer: position sizing, invalidation rules, the journaling structure the desk uses, and the regime-shift decision tree for when the framework call changes mid-trade. The deliverable is a working framework, not a content library.
What it doesn’t cover (and where to get those things)
The Blueprint is intentionally narrow in two places. First, it does not teach basic chart reading. If you have never opened a candlestick, free YouTube content covers that better and at zero cost. The Blueprint assumes you have the technical foundation already; it builds the macro layer on top. Second, it does not provide live trade signals. The desk publishes daily macro reads at kenmacro.com/macro-insights for free, but the course itself teaches you to make your own calls, not to copy the desk’s. If you want signals to copy, a signal group is what you want, not a course. The mentorship layer covers 1-on-1 work on your specific trades once the framework is in, but the Blueprint stays self-paced and self-applied because that is what makes the framework actually yours.

Who the Blueprint is right for
Right fit profile: you have been trading retail for six months to several years, you can read a basic chart, you have stopped yourself out of a position you read correctly, and you suspect the gap in your trading is macro view not chart skill. Sub-fits: you have read Lyn Alden, Hugh Hendry, or other accessible macro writers and want to convert that reading into an applied framework with a rule set; or you have completed a technical course and want to layer macro on top because your TA-only trades are getting blown up by structural moves you did not see coming. The Blueprint fixes those specific gaps. It will not fix everything.
Who the Blueprint is wrong for
Three wrong-fit profiles. First, pure beginners who have not opened a brokerage account or paper-traded for a few months. The course assumes baseline chart fluency; without it, the framework lands flat. Start with free YouTube TA and paper-trade for a month first. Second, signal-followers who want trades copied rather than principles learned. The Blueprint produces independent traders, not copy-traders; if that is not what you want, save the GBP 499 and join a signal group instead. Third, anyone expecting the course to make them money rather than teach them to make their own. The framework gives you the lens, the reps are still yours to do. If the expectation is otherwise, the course will disappoint, fairly. The desk turns away the wrong-fit profiles in the application step where possible, but the mentorship application is the gate, not the Blueprint purchase.
The Blueprint fit checklist
- You have some trading reps already. Six months minimum, ideally a year. Pre-foundation is not the right starting point.
- You can read a basic chart. The Blueprint assumes baseline TA. If you cannot, learn that free first (YouTube), then come back.
- You suspect macro is the gap. Your trades read correctly but the regime context catches you off guard. That is exactly what the Blueprint fixes.
- You want to make your own calls, not copy. The Blueprint teaches independent thinking. If you want signals to copy, it is the wrong product.
- You can spend GBP 499 without it hurting. If the price is meaningful to your account, the timing is wrong. Recoverability comes from cleaner trading on a working framework.
- You will actually do the work. Self-paced courses reward execution. If you bought a course last year and never finished it, fix the discipline first, then come back.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Macro Trading Blueprint cover?
The four pillars of macro trading: regime identification, real-yields mechanics, dollar dynamics, and gold/oil drivers. Plus the trade-management layer (position sizing, invalidation rules, journaling, regime-shift decision tree). Self-paced, lifetime access.
How much is the Macro Trading Blueprint?
GBP 499 one-time payment, lifetime access. No recurring fees, no chat subscriptions, no level-up upsells. One purchase, the framework forever.
Who is the Macro Trading Blueprint for?
Retail traders with six months or more of reps, baseline chart skill, and the sense that the gap in their trading is macro view rather than chart competence. Most fit-right traders are also reading some accessible macro material (Lyn Alden, Real Vision, BIS) and want to convert that into a structured framework with a rule set.
Who is the Macro Trading Blueprint NOT for?
Three profiles. Pure beginners who have not opened a brokerage account (learn free TA first). Signal-followers who want trades copied (the Blueprint produces independent thinkers). Anyone expecting the course to make them money rather than teach them to make their own. The desk turns those away because the course will not land.
What’s the difference between the Blueprint and the mentorship?
The Blueprint is the framework, self-paced, GBP 499 one-time. The mentorship is 1-on-1 work on your specific trades after the framework is in, three weeks, GBP 2,500-5,000, small cohort with application. Most mentees come through the Blueprint first because the framework is the prerequisite. Both, in order, is the natural path.
