KenMacro Broker Desk Notes

Competitors have reviews. The desk has notes. Here is exactly what we check before routing a broker, why each one is listed, and the honest watch-out on every single one. Updated monthly.

What the desk checks before routing a broker

Before any broker gets routed, it goes through the same seven checks, in this order:

  • The regulated entity for your country, not the brand’s headline regulator
  • Real all-in cost: spread plus commission on the pairs you actually trade
  • Withdrawal reliability and track record
  • Leverage cap, and whether it fits sensible sizing
  • Segregated client funds
  • The platform you need (MT4, MT5, app, copy)
  • Whether real support answers, fast

Current broker routes

Three routes, each for a different trader. None is perfect, and the desk will tell you who each one is not for.

Current desk route

VT Markets

Why it is listed: It is the route the desk runs on. Multi-asset, tight pricing, low minimum, and funding through the desk link unlocks the full Macro Mastery desk free. ASIC on its primary entity, offshore for international.

Watch-out: Confirm the entity for your region. The offshore entity carries fewer protections than the ASIC one.

Not for: UK residents. VT does not accept them on the offshore entity, so UK traders are routed elsewhere.

Editor’s choice

Blueberry Markets

Why it is listed: The cleanest all-rounder for ASIC-first traders: clean regulation, tight raw spreads, and the bundled Macro Mastery desk overlay through our link. Runs MT4, MT5 and TradingView.

Watch-out: Copy trading runs through third-party tools and tends to want a larger balance. It is not built for the very highest leverage.

Not for: Traders chasing maximum offshore leverage. That is not Blueberry’s lane.

High-leverage route

Star Trader

Why it is listed: For active traders who want higher leverage and accept the offshore trade-off. Runs MT4, MT5 and its own STARTRADER app, with crypto base-currency accounts and multi-language support.

Watch-out: Offshore entity (Mauritius / Seychelles), so fewer protections, no Tier-1 compensation scheme, and some EU regulators have issued warnings. It does not offer native TradingView; charting is MT4, MT5 or the app. Verify before depositing.

Not for: Traders who need Tier-1 regulatory protection. The leverage comes at the cost of safeguards.

Entity and country notes

  • ASIC and FCA entities are Tier-1: stronger oversight, compensation schemes, lower leverage caps
  • Offshore entities offer higher leverage but fewer protections and harder recourse
  • UK residents: routed to a Tier-1 entity; VT’s offshore entity does not accept them
  • Always confirm the entity named on your client agreement on the regulator’s own register before funding

Account setup notes

  • Open under the entity that applies to your country, not the one with the best marketing
  • Fund the smallest sensible amount first and test a withdrawal before scaling
  • Set leverage as a ceiling, not a target; size off risk per trade
  • Match the platform to how you actually trade before you commit

Common broker mistakes the desk sees

  • Choosing on a bonus instead of regulation and real cost
  • Ignoring which entity actually holds the account
  • Funding the bare minimum then trading full lots
  • Never testing a withdrawal until they need the money
  • Trusting a ranking that never mentions the watch-out

Monthly route update

June 2026: No route changes. VT Markets remains the all-access desk route, Blueberry Markets the editor’s choice for clean ASIC regulation, and Star Trader the high-leverage offshore option. Watch-outs unchanged. Any change to a route, a watch-out or an entity note is logged here first.

FAQ

What are KenMacro Broker Desk Notes?

Live notes on the brokers the desk routes to: why each is listed, the honest watch-out, who it is not for, and entity and country notes. Updated monthly. It is how the desk thinks about brokers, not a static affiliate directory.

Does KenMacro get paid by these brokers?

Yes, we disclose that we may earn commission on referrals at no extra cost to you. The difference is we route by fit, regulation and country, publish the watch-out on every broker, and never claim a broker is perfect.

How often is this updated?

Monthly, or sooner if a route changes. The monthly update section logs any changes to the routes or watch-outs.

Affiliate disclosure: KenMacro may earn commission on broker referrals at no extra cost to you. We route by fit and regulation, not by who pays the most. No broker is perfect and we will always tell you the watch-out. Risk warning: CFDs are leveraged and most retail accounts lose money. Education only, not financial advice. Always confirm the regulated entity for your country before funding.
